I suspect it is either the front panel, motherboard, or cable connecting the two previous internet research. If you can hear a 'thumb' sound or 'HUM' sound, you can make sure that the speaker is ok. If the sound output Ic has damaged, sometimes you may not hear any sound at all too. If there is no sound at all, speaker is faulty. Ok If you need any further assistance, contact me through Fixya. Before replacing the Ic, just deell whethere there is voltage comes to its supply terminal or not. I had a similar problem it turned out that speaker wires where disconnected.
